The Science Behind Brain Repair

Neurovascular Dysfunction Drives Disease

One of the key systems involved in this process is the neurovascular unit (NVU).

The neurovascular unit (NVU) connects neurons, blood vessels, and supporting cells that maintain brain health.

When disrupted, this system can lead to:

  • Impaired cerebral blood flow
  • Blood–brain barrier breakdown
  • Persistent inflammation
  • Loss of neuronal support

These changes are seen across multiple neurological diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, where vascular dysfunction may precede cognitive decline.

INTRODUCING rLG3

rLG3 is a first-in-class biologic derived from a vascular matrikine involved in neurovascular repair.

Based on naturally occurring protein (Perlecan), rLG3 enhances innate repair mechanisms and activates multiple pathways that restore vascular integrity, reduce inflammation, and promote neuronal survival.

By restoring blood–brain barrier integrity and neurovascular function, rLG3 represents a transformative approach to stopping neurodegeneration.
